April League Finals Set up...

The April league finals knockout phase has had a bit of a make over. I will be incorporating the A League finals format into the mix for this league. For this to happen, at the end of the group stages, I will combine the two tables and the teams with the highest points will determine the top 6. Goal differences will be taken into account. 

From here, the top 6 will be placed into the new finals format as per below:

• Final 1 - 1st vs 2nd. Double chance
• Final 2 - 3rd vs 6th. Elimination
• Final 3 - 4th vs 5th. Elimination
• Semi Final - Final 2 vs Final 3 Winner
• Preliminary - Final 1 loser vs Semi Final winner
• Grand Final - Final 1 winner vs Prelim Final winner

April Comp - Zoho sheets...

Guys please make note that we are only using Zoho sheets Group A and Group B. They have now been set up for the group stage with the teams and the fixtures. Please enter your results in those sheets and do not fill out any Group C or Group D sheets.

And PLEASE only fill in the SCORE only in the Fixtures and Results tab!!! Nothing else!!!!

The final remaining players have been matched up by myself as well as their teams have been chosen. This league is ready to rock boys... Get in a few friendlies in the next few days before the comp begins. Should be an interesting month!!!

April League Rules and General Setup...

League Setup 

• 16 players will be participating in our 2 vs 2 league competition this month. There are 8 teams with 2 Groups, 4 teams per group and you will play each opponent 4 times in the league. The top 2 teams will go thru into the knockout round. If you dont play your required games by the specified time line then you will forfeit the match and loose 3-0 using our newly introduced base rate game system. The base rate of games will be 10 for this month.
• After each game you are required to enter your scores into the zoho results spreadsheet. If the teams are a draw on points at the end of the group phase, then goal differences will be taken into account. The GM's will be keeping an eye on the results section to see the scores noted are the actual scores
• There will be a time limit of the group stages. There will be more detail to follow as the dates are not concrete
• Finals structure has been updated. There will now be a 2 tie knockout round. with home and away goals determining the players to progress.  
• If a D/C occurs during a game and the score is 0-0 within the first 30 minutes then an full unranked replay will be played. Anything after that, then just a single half should be played to determine the result. Player discretion should be used in this instance of a replay. i.e. If a game gets d/c at the start of the 2nd half, then only 1 half should be played etc if its a close game. On the other hand, If your loosing 4-0 then dont bother. Either way, its up to the players to decide...

Results Section

• Same as per usual, but we will only be using 2 tables this month. Group A and Group B. There are no new guys in the league this month so everybody should have access to the spreadsheets.

Forfeiting System and points allocation

• Base number of games is going to be 10 games this month

• Everyone must play the base number of games

• If you do not play the base number of games, you will be in forfeit. Also, as a further penalty, I think it would be fair that the player be excluded from the following month's league, a red card so to speak.

• If you are in forfeit every result with a player already played with and and if the player has played the base number of games will be recorded as a 3-0 win for the player unless the margin of victory is more than 3 goals. So if you lose 1-0, you'll be awarded a 3-0 win, however if you win 7-0 you get to keep your score.

• If a player hasn't played the forfeited player, he is not entitled to the win

• In the event that players have already played the base number of games, then points come into effect – for instance: PL W L D GD PTS

n00bert 28 – 16 -12 – 0- +40 – 48
Sanchez 25 – 20 – 5 -0 – +50 -60

Mr Gosu 16 – 16 – 0 – 0 – +41 – 48

The rankings would be – Sanchez, Gosu, n00bert. Make sense?

So basically, if you've played the base number of games – the actual league table comes into effect.

• Players who do not play the base number of games are, as a matter of principal, excluded from the league table and will not qualify even if they have more points than a person who has played the base number of games. This is to prevent players from reaching the "safe zone" and then refusing to play any more games. This puts further impetus on players who have not played their base number of games to chase the players that already have.

So for instance – in a battle for fourth – (if the base number of games is 16)

Dardy – 14 – 14 -0 – 0 – +15 – 42
Sanchez – 16 – 14 – 2 – 0 – +15 – 42
Mr Gosu – 16 – 14 – 2 – 0 – +10 – 42

The only people in consideration in this scenario are Sanchez and Gosu as they have played the base number of games. And in this scenario, all 14 wins for Dardy will be reverted to losses against the players who Dardy has already played. Dardy would also be suspended from the following months league.

• A cut off date for group stages must be set and any grace periods to finish league games will be decided on a monthly basis by Sanchez.

April League - 2 vs 2 Game Setup...

This post has been created as a guide on how to set up a 2 vs 2 game for the April league. Please refer to the guide below if you are not sure how to host/join a game:

1. Go to online lobbies in the Fifa10 online menu
2. Choose My Country option
3. Create a room. Cant remember if the option is Square or Triangle. There are shortcut options along the bottom of the screen to confirm this
4. Enter any name for the room
5. Make the room private so no hermits can jump into the room.
6. Create room
7. Once room has been created invite the players into the room. Please note they will need to be on your psn id list to send them invites. If the players are not on your psn id list and the other players may have on their list, they will need to invite
8. Once you have the 4 players in the room, one of you will need to host the game. Go thru the options and choose "Online Team Play" and "10 vs 10"
9. Once all people have joined the game, each player needs to move to either left or right (home and away) with their partners. Make sure you choose your teams! You can do so by pressing the short cut menus on the bottom of the screen. From memory its triangle to change teams and square for kits
10. Once these have been finalised, all players need to make SURE that they CHOOSE ANY! This makes you and your partner control 5 players each, do not choose a specific player position. If you do, then you guys will need to restart the match.

2 vs 2 Team Regos - Sunday 28th March

Guys the registrations are closed. We have a total of 16 players which will be a match up of 8 teams. There will be 2 groups of 4 teams and the top 2 will go thru into the knockouts. The teams that are listed below are available to choose from. Please note that the day to choose your teams is SUNDAY 28th of March. First in best dressed as the club restrictions have now been removed.

April League - 2 vs 2 Comp Rego Open...

Guys regos are open for the 2 vs 2 comp, log into the google spreadsheet as per usual and fill out the "Apr Player List – Rego Open" sheet... up to you guys to organise partners... once a partner has been chosen, please fill out you and your partners psnid's on the April Team listing 2 vs 2 sheet.... Guys who didn't make the game cut off are not eligible to join up..

If you don't choose a partner in time, I will be allocating them for you...please note that any members who do team up with fellow club members, you guys will be receiving seeded teams.

Teams have not been put up as yet... will do shortly.. it will be a combination of 4, 4.5 and 5 star teams, with the 4 star teams being allocated to the club members.

I will get a better definition for teams when the regos are completed, or almost complete

March League Awards...

Ok... so looking thru the sheets I am trying to work out the awards for the group stages. Gota say now with the teams not playing the full amount of required games its not that easy to give a clear indication on who really deserves these awards..

i.e. People who just make it over the required game cut off have a better GA than the boys who have played the full amount of games and people who play more games have a better chance of getting a better GF

I think I will just go by what the tables say as I honestly cbf'd trying to figure out more productive way of showing the results... I also added a new award for the most goals received in the group stages. Called it the David James Award hehehe... Guess who won it this month with a whopppping 63 goals!!!

In saying that the awards are:

• Golden Boot: MND79 (Sampdoria) PL 20 (55 Goals +)

• Golden Gloves: MrGosu (Juventus) PL 16 (16 Goals -)

• David James Award: Moga148 (Torino) PL 20  (63 Goals -)

• Best Winning %: Nish (Genoa) – PL 17 (14 Wins = 82.35%)

Nice job boys... Gosu thats your 2nd time taking out the golden gloves... but also the 2nd time you didnt finish your games! haha

MND gets a pat on the back for finishing all his games and bagging 55 for the month with Nish just snapping at his heels with 51. If he played his remaining 3 games then I would dare to think he would have got that award also. Awsum stats from nish too winning 14 out of 17 games!

April League - 2 vs 2 Comp?

Are you guys keen on doing the 2 vs 2 competition for the next league like we mentioned last month? I reckon we will have even less numbers this time round and with the amount of people getting the boot, we might need to adjust the league setup. 

If your keen, post your thoughts in here  for now (that's if you guys still check this blog) with some ideas on how to go about it and then we can discuss more in WP. Thinking no team restrictions for this one with the same group stages (maybe reduced to 2 games) or we can just go for a 2 game 16 team knockout comp...

Keep in mind we need 4 people to be on at the same time for this to work out...
