Thoughts for a new league structure?

Ok so the way the league is set up in FIFA10, its a no brainer that the people who play the most games are the most rewarded. This has always been the case, even with our 08 and 09 leagues, it usually was the people who played the most would always end up top 4. FIFA10 is no different but is there something we could do that would make it more interesting? Could we introduce a league structure that would try to reward players based more on their skill, rather than how many games they have played? I'm open for suggestions!

I have had some feedback from a few boys about this but would like to get some more ideas before we try and implement something. Also thinking of doing a World Cup or Champions league theme for the next month but have no idea how we can successfully do this to make it even for everyone. The floor is yours people...

I agree something has to be done. Honestly I get bored most months quickly as its always evident after a week the top 4 is more or less set. Some sort of world cup grouping + knockout stages would be awesome.

Yeh i hear ya mate... its fun but it gets repetitive.. and i play a fair share amount of games too...

World cup is a good idea.. but how do we go about it? There has to be some form of handicap for the guys who dont play it as regular and for the newbies.. no idea on how to go about it!

I really like the UCL theme, not sure how to implement it though. Count me in for next month. Exams over, girlfriend overseas, i'm free. Hopefully I don't get disconnected from PSN too much :s

Its not an easy setup to implement. if you really want to make a fun competition, it would have to be done manually. You would setup the rules and draws beforehand then have people post their results onto a database. That way we have quick knockout competitions. For the qualifying rounds you could have several groups like the world cup is setup. These should also be randomly drawn or based on handicaps from the previous month. We can make a standard chart to fill in each time we begin and progress through the competition. That part wont be hard. Is this making any sense or should I draw it up?

Not sure what you mean Talaash... seems that there is a fair amount of effort involved and I for one already spend enuff time mucking around for this league!

I like the idea of having different groups, 8 teams per league with 4 leagues going at once, top 2 go thru and play finals. Kind of like a real group and knockout phase. Play 2 games per team and whoever is on top progresses. Just need to decide on theme and how the handicap will work....
